Artist Statement

The relationships between the man-made environment and abstract composition are the focus of Linda Jacobs’ photographs. She often places the viewer in an unfamiliar vantage point. Linda’s images can be appreciated as compositional studies, or can be viewed more closely, to engage the activity within the image. Light, texture, shadow, detail and color are her subjects.

Special portfolios include: “Looking at Art: the Experience of Interaction”, “Vantage Points” and “Photograms: the Alchemy of Glass”. In the Photograms series, unique art objects of interest and beauty are created in the darkroom from well-known objects, uncovering a magical dimension concealed from the naked eye.
